I noticed the first picture/collage of a black silhouette girl reminiscing of the nature. It reminds me the time of my life when I would want to let go of every busy and hectic life and just travel to the nature and relax. This photo portrays a great connection to the busy life of every person and how every each person would always think of a way to just leave and relax in the nature. When I look away, I remember the black silhouette of a woman looking very tired.
(on the dog picture) When I look at this picture i see a dog in looking in three different directions. I see the expression on his face and the way he is looking out. I see how it looks juxtaposed to the black background and how it makes you focus on the center of the photo. It reminds me of my dog and when I tried to take pictures of him. I remember how difficult it was to get him to sit because that's not what he wanted to do. Its very different from taking a picture of a person who can communicate. When I look away I remember the dog in the middle looking upward.
The image of the man with his feet dangling into the square space definitely interested me. My eyes are drawn upward his body, with his feet defined and then becoming less in focus the higher your eyes go up. There is a height to the image that reminds me of the thrill of climbing up to higher ground. I am brought to this by a memory of climbing up to my friend's roof via a ladder in her attic, where my friends and I watched the sun go down, and then spent the night talking with the light-polluted city in the distance. This causes me to be filled with nostalgia and happiness, reflected in the beauty of the sky in your photograph as well as the the blue of the tunnel. I can't help wonder where he came from (what is under him) and where he is, exactly, in the moment of the image.
(on the bottom portrait) I see a close up of a girl looking down while she tucks her hair behind her ear. She looks to be in her own world and this makes me curious. What is she thinking about? The tucking of hair usually implies a shyness or quiet personal thought which makes wonder why does she want to hide what she's thinking? When I look away I remember the flow and multicolored strands of her hair.
I can't help but being drawn to there-dogs. Is it anthropomorphic? I see an old man's grimace...something human. Seeing the dog in three's, the repetition of it somehow gives the image more authority.
The first picture of the silhouette is very interesting. The figure of the woman jumps out first and then you start to notice the imagery found along her head and hair. It's interesting that the sky is located in her head, as if suggesting that the human brain is this vast of place. That in turn makes me think that this photo could be used in an article about psychology.
(1st silhouette photo) I see a woman with long hair with an image of the mountains, sky and water inside of her. It reminds me of some of Jerry Uellsman's photo collages which I really enjoy. It makes me feel really peaceful to imagine this place and also what she's thinking about. I remember the landscape when I look away.

ReplyDeleteWonderful Image of the dog. Love his confidence posture. It reminds me of Ewoks, from the movie "Star wars" Great job!
